The Vizsla Club of Greater New York (VGGNY) hosted a wonderful two-day Vizsla Specialty Show in New Paltz, New York on June 20th and 21st, 2026, bringing together members and exhibitors for a memorable weekend. Held in honor of longtime members Chet Anderson and Joe Quinn, the event featured beautiful weather, a successful raffle supporting the club, and a warm sense of community as attendees shared meals and stories.
Judges praised both the exhibitors and the impressive quality of the Vizslas, noting the breed’s continued progress. Special recognition goes to Christine Arnone for her dedication in creating the event’s trophies, baskets, and raffle items. Congratulations to all the winners, including Ritu Mihir for earning a new champion title and Amy Born Kobal for Best of Breed on Sunday. It was truly a special event, and the club looks forward to welcoming everyone again next year.

🐾 A Great Bird Training Day with Our Vizslas at Soggy Bottom Game Preserve! 🐾
ANOTHER FUN DAY FOR OUR CLUB!! On October 13th, 2026 our club hosted a bird training day at Soggy Bottom Game Preserve.
What a great day out working with our Vizslas! Our training day offered something for everyone, with activities tailored to different experience levels, from novice to intermediate.
We kicked things off with some basic obedience skills and recall, two essential foundations for successfully training a hunting dog. From there, our novice dogs were introduced to birds, while our Intermediate/Advance dogs had the opportunity to put their skills to work by finding and pointing birds.
It was wonderful to see the dogs learning, building confidence, and developing their natural instincts in the field. Days like these are a great opportunity for handlers to learn, share knowledge, strengthen the bond with their dogs and just some good old comradery.
A big thank-you to everyone who came out and helped make the day a success, and to Soggy Bottom Game Preserve for hosting us!
❤️ Good dogs, great people, and a whole lot of bird work! We look forward to the next one! 🐕🪶
